William Rabkin
Showrunner
Creator and writer of HBOAsia’s science fiction series Dream Raider, has written and/or produced hundreds of hours of dramatic television. He served as show runner on the long-running Dick Van Dyke mystery series “Diagnosis Murder” and on the action-adventure spectacle “Martial Law” and is currently creating series in Asia and Europe. He has also written a dozen network TV pilots. His work has twice been nominated for the Edgar Award for Best Television Episode from the Mystery Writers of America. He has written four books on writing for television, “Writing the Pilot” (2011), “Writing the Pilot: Creating the Series” (2017), Writing the Pilot: Streaming and, with Lee Goldberg, “Successful Television Writing” (2003) and seven novels. He is the co-creator and co-editor of “The Dead Man,” a 28-book series of supernatural action thrillers published by Amazon’s 47 North imprint. Rabkin is part of the core faculty of UCR-Palm Desert’s M.F.A. in Creative Writing & Writing for the Performing Arts. He is currently co-writing the miniseries Estonia: The Last Wave for the Nordic Entertainment Group and ITV.

Latino Filmmaker and writer. Kevin won the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Florida Film Festival in 2021. He has had sold and optioned several screenplays and television series and has directed over thirty professional theater productions regionally and Off-Broadway. He has had seven of his original plays and musicals produced. He has a BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and is an MFA candidate in screenwriting and creative writing.

What we do
Every writer who has ever had a script produced will tell you there is no greater experience than the table read, where you can finally see and hear it performed for the first time.
That’s when you find out if the characters ring true… if the dialogue plays… if the pacing holds…
And most importantly, that’s when you can see whether the entire script works… and what kind of rewriting will make it great.
But for a new screenwriter, it’s almost impossible to arrange a table read.
Of course you can organize one on your own. But while a reading with friends and family and fellow writers can be fun, it can’t tell you much more about your script than feeding into the text-to-speech feature on your screenwriting software.
And sure, there are contests that offer a table read as their grand prize – but you’ll be one of thousands of writers competing for that slot. There are podcasts that take submissions for scripts to be read – but again, they do a handful in a year.
A real table read requires skilled, trained actors who will understand how to perform your lines, not just read them. And who can gather a troupe of professional actors with years of experience on Broadway, on TV and in films, and put them around a table to bring your script to life?

Tableread.me is a service created by veteran television writer and showrunner William Rabkin and top-notch theatrical director Kevin Morales. Our goal is to give every writer the most valuable tool to improve their scripts – the ability to see and hear how they play.
To do so, we’ll assemble a cast of the finest actors working in Television, on Broadway and Off-Broadway stages. We’ll rehearse them, and then we’ll stage the reading for you. Afterwards we’ll provide you with a video of the performance for you to use as a rewrite guide, or even as proof of concept for a producer.
